Let’s Do It Again
(1975; Sidney Poitier)
Minoru and Naoki of LIPCREAM with Sakevi of G.I.S.M. crouching in the background, ca. ‘84. Photo lifted from the MRR house.
Martin from LOS CRODUS films an MK-ULTRA set at a Grand Rapids, MI house show, Spring ‘96. This was one of the first of many shows where LOS CRUDOS, MK-ULTRA, and CHARLES BRONSON played back to back. Outside crusties were up on the roof throwing dog shit at people below, inside I was pressed so tight against a window that it shattered, and after MK ULTRA played their drummer Gary tried to sell a pink MK-ULTRA girlie tee to a filthy dreadlocked crusty woman by saying “C’mon, you’re a girl.”
Matt Summers of SHARK ATTACK playing probably the best set I’ve ever seen. Within 5 minutes the band did three originals, covered “Chunks,” got in multiple fights between members (the bassist took his guitar off and swung it at Matt’s face, the drummer kicked his crash stand into Matt which sliced open his leg), and concluded by breaking up on stage.
