Here is a piece of anime history that I had translated this past week. Please share and discuss. THANK YOU.

アニメの予言者21人
21 Prophets of Anime

アニメ大予言’86
Grand prophecy of Anime ‘86

This is the project needed by Anime world now! I propose this project! 21 leading personnel in Anime world in 1986 talk about problems in the industry and their solutions. You can see the future of Anime by reading this.

OldtypeNewtype has done a FANTASTIC job translating a great (and kinda long) article from 1986 in which some big names from the anime industry (Hayao Miyazaki, Mamoru Oshii, and lots more) talk about their honest feelings about the industry at the time, and predictions on the future of anime in general.

The whole thing is separated in parts: Part One - Part Two - Part Three

Thanks again to OldtypeNewtype’s blacotaku1 for taking the time to translate this. Be sure to check out his blog for lots of great vintage Newtype scans and occasional article translations like these. :D
